Pro’s

If you are looking for a low cost lp gas grill this one will fit what you need. Its made in China which makes me not like it as well as if it had been made here. The char-broil classic 480 has tubular burners made of stainless steel. The push button ignition has AA battery’s which provides the ignition. The black color of the lp gas barbecue really looks good with the stainless steel top.

Con’s

The char-broil grill is constructed with 430 stainless steel, cast aluminum parts and powder coated steel. The side burner cant hold large pots or pans. 6 Quart or less it can handle.  I think the side burner is a waste unless you are just warming small pans of sauce or vegetables. I wish the porcelain coated cast iron cooking grates were better. They will work ok,but i wish they were stronger built. The char-broil grill isn’t constructed with thick steel so that’s why its cheap. If the stainless steel top isn’t very thick it will have a good chance to discolor when you heat up the char-broil grill. Also the regulator which hooks to the bottle of lp gas which you will have to provide,is a little difficult to hook up. If you find that the temp only goes up to 250 to 300 degrees with all burners working the regulator isn’t hooked up right. There is an instruction book that shows how to hook the lp gas bottle correctly.

Benefits of owning

The durability of the char-broil classic is good, if you take very good care of it. A grill cover, and cleanup every time you use it will enhance the probability of this unit lasting for many years. If you can keep it in a dry shed also helps. The caster wheels on the bottom of the classic 480 also helps with moving the unit around. I haven’t used the product but have consulted friends and websites who know about the char-broil classic.
