Pros

What i like is the electric smoker is built from 100% stainless steel that’s 18 gauge . The unit is designed to make it easy to use and to move around. The Smokin-it model 2 smoker comes with 4 wheels that are heavy duty 3″diameter rubber casters. You can easily move this smoker around on your patio without problems. There is 4 grilling racks that are stainless steel for easy cleanup and long life.  The electric smoker has a drip pan that is under the unit and slides out for easy cleaning. There is a thermostat that controls temperatures from 100 up to 250 degrees. Most people smoke at 225 degrees giving you 25 degrees to add more heat if needed.

There is a double latch closure system that’s new. Also there is a 12 foot electric cord.This electric smoker has a  temperature control knob on the outside of the unit,you will need a temperature probe to keep the food cooking at the desired temp Smokin-It Model 2 Electric Smoker

You wont have to assemble the smoker,it only needs to have the casters screwed in. There is a sample of hickory wood that you can use. The smoker will hold around 35 pounds of meat or seafood. The barbecued meat you cook in this stainless steel Smokin-it model 2 will taste great.

Cons

The earlier models had problems with heat control. As i understand they replaced the heat control with a better led temp light and thermostat. A couple complained about the door letting smoke out the top. There were a couple of customers who wrote a bad review before asking customer service for help. As i understand the customer service of  Smokin-it is pretty good. Customer complaints get taken care of with few problems.

Conclusion

I downloaded the instructions to use the smoker. They say to season the smoker grill before use by placing 3 to 4 pieces of the sample wood into the firebox. Set controller to 210 and run for 3 to 4 hours. Also they say to make sure the wood box lid is closed before using. They also say that the smokin-it electric smoker will have smoke coming out the vent more the first hour. Then tapers off after that.The model 2 electric smoker is described by some as the perfect smoker. One thing that helps is the press fit steel door and the insulation.

Several have said that the smoker runs a little cooler in the racks than it should. They fix this by running the temperature a little higher. So you might need to run the temp at 235 to get 225 at the racks. The electric smoker is a refrigerator style and is easy to use. You will need a digital  thermometer to keep an eye on the meat temperature during cooking. The smokin-it unit uses less wood than most,they say if you place too much wood in the wood box the food you cook will be bitter from oversmoke. Its easy to keep from oversmoking though. Just follow the advice the owners book contains. The video explains how much wood to use.
